  • How many litres of sap does it take to make 1 litre of syrup?
    It takes about 40 L of sap to make one litre of syrup, depending on the percent of sugar in the sap
  • How much wood do we burn in the evaporator in one year?
    The evaporator burns about 15 face cords.
  • What is the advantage to using the reverse osmosis process in making syrup?
    The sap is condensed (water is removed) which means sap is boiled for a shorter time period. In addition, we use much less wood (about a third of what we used before reverse osmosis).
